The R&B Lavender Story

R&B Lavender began as an idea sparked by a life-altering move — a move we never saw coming. Both of us grew up in the hustle and bustle of city life, surrounded by the noise, the pace, and the constant motion of urban living. Like many city dwellers, we never imagined life could be anything else. But sometimes, life has a way of taking you in directions you least expect.

In 2010, we faced a family crisis that completely shifted the course of our lives gold ribbon - childhood cancer. The following years were anything but ordinary, as we navigated the emotional and practical fallout. During this time, our perspectives began to change. The busy, fast-paced life we once thought was normal began to feel less fulfilling. We started dreaming of a simpler life — one closer to nature, slower, more intentional. At first, it was just talk. We joked about it, wondering what it might be like to live outside the city, but neither of us took it too seriously. However, the idea lingered, and before we knew it, we found ourselves researching rural properties, imagining a life where we could reconnect with the land.

In late 2013, we took the plunge and purchased a 22-acre property in the heart of the rural municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, just west of the City of London. The property was wild and untamed — overgrown with brush and brambles — but there was an undeniable beauty in its organic chaos. It felt like a blank canvas, full of potential, waiting for a vision to bring it to life. And that’s when the idea of lavender first took root.

In the summer of 2014, we planted our very first lavender plant on a quiet hill at the back of the property. It was a small experiment, a test to see if this fragrant herb could thrive in its new home. To our surprise and delight, it did. The lavender flourished in the soil, bathed in the sun, and soon we were planting more. Over the next few years, we cleared away the overgrowth, slowly shaping the land and expanding the lavender fields.

Balancing full-time jobs and the demands of farm life wasn’t easy, but each day brought us closer to the dream we had imagined. Every plant we nurtured, every row we planted, felt like a step towards something bigger. In 2018, after years of hard work and growing passion, we registered our name, and R&B Lavender was born.

What started as a dream has now become our reality — a farm full of lavender, a sanctuary of peace, and a place that reflects the journey we’ve been on. It’s more than just a business to us; it’s a testament to resilience, transformation, and the beauty that can emerge from even the most unexpected changes.
